What is the functional prenatal pilates?

Functional training is different exercises that mimic everyday life movements. Pilates helps to strengthen the core muscles to fix the posture and the biomechanics of the body and to work on the movements of the joints. The eight principles of pilates are: concentration, breathing, centering, control, precision, flowing movement, isolation and routine.

The Prenatal pilates supported by the Mum and Baby centre is by Alice Kazanjian who she is a holder of a BSc in Physiotherapy from the European University Cyprus and a  registered physiotherapist with the Pancyprian Association of Physiotherapists since 2016.  She has worked in a rehabilitation center and the last one and a half year she works in a clinic in Nicosia. She has successfully completed the following courses: 1. Functional pilates 2. Functional Prenatal and Postnatal pilates 3. Fitball pilates, all the above are certified from the Institute of training and occupational learning (ITOL).
